More and more international flights land directly at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. It is about 20 km from Masjid an-Nabawi — around 25 minutes by car.
Starting your trip in Madinah
Many pilgrims choose to visit Madinah first, then travel to Makkah for Umrah. If you do this, you will enter ihram at the Madinah Miqat, Dhul Hulaifah (Abyar Ali), on the way to Makkah. Your driver can stop there so you can pray and make your intention.
Options from the airport
- Pre-booked private car: your driver waits at arrivals and takes you to your hotel door (or the nearest permitted point near the Haram).
- Taxi: available outside the terminal — agree the fare first.
- Train: the Haramain station is not inside the airport, so you would still need a car.
Tips
- Send your flight number to your driver so delays are tracked automatically.
- Book the Rawdah visit through the official Nusuk app before you arrive — slots go quickly.
- For your return flight, leave your hotel at least 3 hours before departure.
